Students Under 13 Arrested For Threatening Teacher At San Antonio School; the terrorist threat was by text

HOUSTON – An incident caused police to go to the premises of a school in the San Antonio area.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of two 13-year-old boys for allegedly threatening to harm a teacher at Briscoe Middle School.

Officers were dispatched to the school, located in the 4000 block of Lone Star Parkway, around 10:30 a.m. Monday morning. Agents arrived to discover that two 13-year-olds had threatened to harm a teacher via text message.

The two students were arrested on terrorist threat charges.

During this incident, authorities received an additional report that a student had a weapon at school. Agents searched the student’s backpack and locker, however no weapon was found.

“At this time, it appears to have been allegations stemming from rumour. No weapons were found at Briscoe Middle School during either incident,” the statement read.

Investigations into these incidents are currently ongoing.

For their part, school authorities indicated that students and staff are safe.

“We continue to investigate specific individuals who allegedly engaged in social media threats towards an individual. If found in violation of our Student Code of Conduct, individuals will be subject to disciplinary action,” read the statement from the educational establishment.
