Bori Fati, father of Ansu Fati, held a meeting at the Sports City on Monday Joan Gamper with the football director of FC Barcelona, Mateu Alemany, and the sports director, Jordi Cruyff.
During the meeting, which lasted an hour, the two parties would have evaluated the situation of the young pearl of the Barça team who has lost a lot of prominence due to the multiple injuries suffered.
In fact, Ansu, 20 years old and with a contract until June 2027, is the fifth striker in Xavi Hernández’s rotation of players. Faced with this situation, the footballer’s representative, Jorge Mendes, would have probed the possibility that the striker would change his scene next summer.
During this season, the 20-year-old footballer has 3 goals and 3 assists in 20 games. A rather low number for what the FC Barcelona board of directors and the fans of the player who took number 10 after Lionel Messi’s departure from the Catalan club expected.
The English press even published that Mendes had offered Ansu Fati to various Premier League clubs, among them Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool or Newcastle.
What is unquestionable is that in the middle of this month of March, Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, traveled together with Alemany to Porto and met with Mendes to analyze the different options in the summer market.
And it is that the Portuguese agent, in addition to having Ansu Fati on his list of represented players, also has the Barcelona fans in his portfolio Alejandro Balde -whose renewal is pending-, Francisco Trincao, Nico González, the youthful Lamine Yamal, as well as interesting players like Joao Cancelo, Bernardo Silva, Ruben Neves and Marco Asensio.
Ansu Fati was not called up with the Spain team for the two matches of the Qualifying for Euro 2024 in Germany. The Spaniard has suffered various injuries throughout the season.
