The police confirmed this Monday that the alleged perpetrator of the shooting that left three children and three adults dead in a school in Nashville (Tennessee, USA) I was 28 years old.

Initially it was reported that the person responsible for the event could be a teenager.

The Nashville police chief, John Drake, specified in a press conference that, according to preliminary information, that the attacker, white and resident in Nashville, could have been a student at the school where the attack took place in the past.

The shooter died in the confrontation with the police officers.

“We’re trying to identify her right now,” Nashville Police Department spokesman Don Aaron said at a news conference earlier.

Aaron reported that the alleged attacker he entered the school through a side door, carrying two assault rifles and at least one pistol.

After a quick response from the police, the agents arrived at the scene and accessed the first floor of the school and, hearing shots on the second floor, decided to go up.

On that floor they met the attacker who was shooting, so two officers opened fire on her.

According to the first reports, the events occurred around 10:13 in the morning, local time, and 14 minutes later, at 10:27 a.m., the police responded to the death of the shooter.

“Over all six victims, three students and three adult school staff members killed, the shooter is victim number seven,” the spokesperson said.

Aaron explained that on a normal day there are usually about 209 students in that educational center, which has more than 40 workers.

The private Christian school Covenant School attends students from preschool to sixth grade, that is, with an average age of about 11 years.

So far this year, at least 30 firearms incidents have been reported in schools across the United States.which have left eight dead and 23 injured, according to data from the organization Everytown for Gun Safety.
