The Mexican team qualified for the Final Four of the Concacaf Nations League after a gray 2-2 draw against Jamaica which ended in booing for the Mexican team at the Azteca Stadium.

Diego Cocca made his debut as coach of the Mexican national team with the visit to Suriname and the match against the Jamaicans.

Mexico arrived with 4 points before this double date and closed with 8 points after the victory against Suriname and the draw against Jamaica. As first place in the group with eight units, two more than Jamaica, the National Team will be among the four finalists of the tournament.

Possible rivals of Mexico

The Final Four format is defined as follows: The best classified of the four groups is measured against the last classified (1 vs. 4) and the second with the third (2 vs. 3). The last date of groups B, C and D is defined this Monday.

In Group B, Panama has the lead with 7 points and will face Costa Rica which adds 6 points. The draw is worth the Panamanians to advance to the second phase.

For Group C, Canada and Honduras will meet in the last match and both are tied with 6 units. The Canadian team will be at home and have the goal difference advantage, so a draw could qualify them to the second round.

And in Group D, the United States receives El Salvador. Team USMNT has 7 units and El Salvador 5so the Salvadorans are forced to defeat Team USA to qualify for the Final Four.

Mexico will have to wait for the end of the matches to meet its rival and improve the level of play which continues to be highly criticized despite being only the beginning of Diego Cocca in command of the team.
