Checo Pérez stays: Christian Horner revealed that the Mexican is committed to Red Bull by 2024

Given the wave of rumors indicating that this could be the last campaign of Checo Perez with Red Bull Racingdue to a possible incorporation into the team of the multi-champion lewis hamilton instead of the Mexican Christian Hornerthe team boss, was very clear in saying that this will not happen and that, in fact, the Mexican is committed to racing for them again in 2024.

“What Lewis has achieved in Formula 1 is second to none, but we are very happy with the drivers we have, they are committed as a pair not only for this season but also for the next.”, Horner said in an interview with Sky News.

In this way, the decision to stay at Red Bull would already be taken by Checo Pérez, who seems to be very happy with the team, despite the friction that he often has with his teammate Max Verstappen; however, the achievements they have had together outweigh the dissatisfied.

It should be remembered that, last season, Red Bull Racing took the Constructors’ Championship, due to the expertise of its two drivers; while in the Drivers’ Classification both got on the podium, Verstappen as first place and Pérez as third.

In this 2023 campaign things are going even better for Checo, since he is sub-leader, after two races: the Bahrain GP and the Saudi Arabian GP, since he was on the podium in both, in second and first place, respectively, while Max did it the other way around, that is, in first and second place. Both occupy positions 1 and 2 of the campaign, with the Dutchman leading by a difference of 1 point.

Unsurprisingly, they are also leading the Constructors’ Championship by 49 points over Aston Martin, their closest rival.
