One man was killed and another seriously injured when jumped off a bridge in downtown El Paso, Texasafter the Police ordered to stop in the car where they were traveling.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the driver failed to stop and fled from the patrol carbut the truck hit a concrete wall, and unable to drive on top of the West Paisano Bridge, the two passengers jumped.
The origin and legal situation of the immigrant was discovered after the incident, since the officer stopped the vehicle for a traffic offenseIt indicated.
The Border Patrol regularly checks near the border for immigration issues, but this was not the case.
The incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday, March 22, when a state police patrol tried to stop a van for a traffic violation but the driver did not stop and fled.
In his escape attempt, the driver hit a concrete wall of the West Paisano Bridge, located in downtown El Paso.
The driver, a 35-year-old man from Weatherford, Texas, and a passenger, an undocumented migrant from El Salvadorfled the vehicle and jumped off the bridge, according to the DPS statement quoted by KTSM television.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. and the passenger was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries caused by the fall.
Four undocumented immigrants remained in the vehicle and were detained and turned over to the Border Patrol, the television channel deepened.
On March 14, a US citizen who was driving a vehicle with five undocumented migrants was shot dead in the Arizona desert after a struggle with Border Patrol agents.
