If you are looking for a job or improve your current one and you like bears and nature, you may soon find your dream job as a professional bear hugger in New Mexico, United States.

He New Mexico Fish and Game Department arecently announced that it is looking to cover one position known as professional bear hugger.

A few days ago, the New Mexico wildlife agency shared a post on social networks like Instagram and Facebook stating that they were looking to hire “professional bear huggers.”

They must be able to walk in strenuous conditions, have the courage to crawl into a bear’s den and trust your co-workers to stay safe during the process”, says part of the post.

“Not all law enforcement field work is so glamorous, but we would love for you to join the team where you can live the experience of your life”, he adds.

Unfortunately, not everyone can be a bear hugger.

In an announcement posted on its Facebook page, the department claims that this is a position for fit, confident and courageous peoplewho have the ability to walk in strenuous conditions and trust their peers to keep them safe during the process.

Another requirement for the position is possess a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, police science or policeconservation of natural resources, ecology or related fields.

In addition, the Applicants must pass a physical test before being considered for an interview: They must perform at least 15 push-ups in a minute, at least 27 sit-ups in a minute, and run 300 meters in less than 71 seconds. New agents will undergo nearly a year of trainingwhich includes the handling of firearms and boats.

According to the New Mexico Game and Fish Department: “Conservation officers (fish and game wardens) patrol state lands and waters day and night.and. Most people will tell you that enforcing fish and game laws is their primary responsibility, but the job doesn’t stop there.

In addition to enforcing the law, the conservation officer educates the public about wildlife and its management, conducts studies on wildlife, captures “problematic animals“, investigates damage caused by wildlife to crops and properties, helps relocate wild animals and contributes to the development of new regulations.”

Potential applicants have until March 30 to register for the opportunity to patrol the lands and waters of New Mexico, day and night. Selected candidates will be charged just over $43 per hour. Upon recruitment training and placement, the wage rises to $53 per hour.
