Since the beginning of the World Baseball Classic, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has been aware of the movement of the Aztec team and last Friday night he burst out with joy with the comeback of the Tri against Puerto Rico.

AMLO shared a video on his social networks celebrating the move to the semifinals. In the clip you can see the president glued to the television enjoying what would be the 27th out and final victory against the Boricuas. Once the game was over, the head of state applauded and shouted: “Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go, uhhh, long live Mexico!”

“Only pro-poor politics is greater than the passion for baseball. Mexico 5- Puerto Rico 4. Congratulations, horses!wrote in the tweet that I had a reach of 1.6 million accounts and more than 600,000 views.

In one of his morning addresses before the match, Obrador did not want to get into controversy and avoided giving a forecast. “They are going to the quarterfinals, now it will be in Miami. They are going to face Puerto Rico, a team that eliminated none other than the Dominican Republic,” he said.

López has been very aware of Mexico’s performances in the World Baseball Classic. In the victory of the Aztec team against the United States, the politician also used the expression “horses” and congratulated the team on the victory.

The president’s video generated reactions in the comments from Internet users, who did not miss the opportunity to leave creative writings and memes. Most of the opinions were related to one of the best players in the tournament, Randy Arozarena.

“And change the 500 bill. Thank you, here is my proposal”; Thank you for nationalizing Randy”; “Great game my president”; Dance, graduate”, were the most prominent reactions.

Now, those trained by Benjamín Gil will face off against Japan in the semifinals of the World Baseball Classic.
