At noon on Saturday, March 4, a tribute to Irma Serrano was held at the mythical Fru Fru theater, located in the Historic Center of Mexico City. Dozens of fans came to say goodbye to the controversial actress, singer and producer.
Photographs of “The tigress” along with floral arrangements, while on stage were the artist’s ashes, surrounded by wreaths, a cross and a figure of the Virgin of Guadalupe. In the tribute there was marimba music and later mariachis; Among the celebrities present were the actor Carlos Bonavides and the star Lynn May.
Irma’s relatives thanked the fans for their assistance; her nephew Luis Felipe Garcia -who together with “La tigresa” was responsible for rescuing the property in 2017- commented that the actress “was a free woman, with firm convictions, that everything she got into transformed her. She was irreverent and she was not afraid of what they would say. She was also the first from Chiapas to be a senator of the Republic and one of the first to open the theater for the LGBT community. At the end of the event, Irma Serrano’s ashes were transferred to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas.
