Throughout the season there was no team that dominated as much as Alabama , and tonight was no exception, with his brand new receiver DeVonta Smith , last winner of the Heisman , who had a historic night r breaking the record of yards per reception that Jordan Matthews had with 3, 759 at Varderbilt of the 2010 – 17.
His brilliant night did not stop there as, in the second quarter, he caught his touchdown number 21 in the season to end the mark established from LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase, who had the record last season. In addition to achieving the record for yards in a season , same that Chase showed with 1, 759.

However, the first quarter of the game was closer than the final marker might suggest. At the end of the first, the score was tied at seven points for each team, and while the ‘Buckeyes’ were trying to keep up with Alabama, they even took advantage of a fumble that turned into a valuable score. However, at the end of the first half, Ohio State could not with the onslaught of Jones, Smith and Harris and already succumbed 35 to 13.
