The change came. After asking for a change of scenery, the The Dallas Mavericks made the signing of Kyrie Irving official on Monday, base that left the Brooklyn Nets, and who comes to the Texan team with Markieff Morris, in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney Smith, all this before the closing of the NBA market, a situation that will take place in the next three days.

the deal between Irving and the Mavericks was formalized this Monday, after the news of the closure of the operation was advanced on Sunday in the US media. However, now the transfer has been made official and it is expected that the American point guard team up with Slovenian Luka Doncic in Dallas and, with its incorporation, the Mavericks aim to become a serious title contender.

The operation, which includes a second-round pick in the 2027 draft and two 2029 draft picks in favor of the Nets, saw Dinwiddie return to the Nets, franchise in which he played from 2016 to 2021.

For his part, Irving is in the final year of his contract and is paid $37 million per season. In addition, it must be taken into account that with this transfer the the base’s passage through Brooklyn, where he arrived in 2019 to open an ambitious sports project that would include Kevin Durant and James Harden.

Although said project never came to fruition, this motivated the different injuries and lack of continuity, situations that stopped that project and that was far from reality.
