Hispanic woman who cleaned newly built houses was found dead in one of them; suspect foul play

HOUSTON – The Police in La Marque, Texas suspect foul play after a woman hired to clean newly built houses was found dead inside one of them on Tuesday.

Officers were called to a home located in the 1300 block of Green Jay Lane at about 5 p.m. a neighborhood property manager who reported finding the body of a woman inside a vacant house.

Police said that the victim’s injuries indicate that she was assaulted and that it is definitely a case of homicide, but they did not go into details about the injuries the woman suffered.

This Wednesday the Police reported that the woman owns a cleaning company that is in charge of cleaning houses that have been recently built.

Investigators identified the victim as 57-year-old Maria Rios. and at the same time they updated that the case will be investigated as a homicide.

The house where the body was discovered is one of several vacant in the area.

As of Wednesday night, police did not have a possible suspect or motive.
