Miami authorities detained a man accused of decapitating a python with a single bite

The Miami-Dade authorities announced the arrest of Kevin Justin Mayorga, who is accused of cruelly taking the life of a a python that he had as a pet.

After receiving a phone call requesting support to stop an argument that had gotten out of control, a couple of police officers went to the Saga Bay Gardens housing complex, located in the town of Cutler Bay, south of Miami.

Instead, officers discovered that The 32-year-old subject tried to hold his partner against his will, but he had also decapitated his snake with his own teeth, this in order to intimidate.

Because he refused to release his wife, one of the law enforcement officers tried to restrain him, but the angry subject hit him in the eye. This situation forced him to be subdued with the help of a stun gun.

Immediately afterwards, The rowdy was immediately taken to a delegation, waiting for charges to be filed.

In their statement, Kevin Justin Mayorga’s partner described the violent way in which the man with whom he had lived for a long time cut off the head of a royal or ball python, species that can reach up to 1.5 meters in length.

Due to his aggressive behavior, The Cutler Bay resident was charged with animal cruelty with intent to kill, false imprisonment and resisting arrest, charges for which he was held on $15,000 bail and a lawyer was also appointed for him, for he could be sentenced to five years in prison with the right to probation.

Inmate records show Mayorga was booked into the Miami-Dade Correctional and Rehabilitation Center.

It should be noted that the decapitated snake belongs to a species with a high market value, since those who buy them pay up to $10,000 dollars for a specimen, this by virtue of the fact that they can live between 20 and 30 years.
