Neighbors in Chicago’s Portage Park neighborhood are in disbelief after the shocking discovery of the body of a 96-year-old woman in the garage behind his apartment building.
“It’s really creepy and really scary,” said one of the testimonies after the old woman’s body was found inside a freezer.
According to local media, police responded to the building in the city’s Portage Park neighborhood. Neighbors said the woman and her daughter, the owner of the building, lived together in a first-floor apartment.
The dead woman was identified by a relative as Regina Michalski, according to the Sun-Times newspaper.
Diane Michalski, the woman’s granddaughter, mentioned that she once lived on the second floor of the Portage Park apartment, but had not seen her grandmother or aunt in about 20 years.
“She didn’t deserve to go that wayDiane Michalski said.
The video of the scene captured police removing a freezer from the garage. An inquest into the death is currently underway.
The woman’s body was discovered in a state of decomposition in the freezer and she was pronounced dead at the scene. A police spokesman said the entire freezer was to be moved to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Until now, Authorities said they are working on an investigation into the death of the elderly woman and provided no further information. immediately about the fact.
This case was reminiscent of an atrocious event in Boston last December, when a 911 call mobilized security forces in Massachusetts, after a probable crime was reported.
When officers arrived at the apartment to investigate, they discovered that inside a freezer were the bodies of four children.
