Four men arrested for allegedly raping a Louisiana student who was later struck to death

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office reported that four subjects were arrested in connection with the alleged rape and death of a Louisiana State University student, who was attacked. and then hit by a car.

The authorities’ report indicates that on January 15, Madison Brooks, 19, was assaulted and then hit by a vehicle, causing serious injuries that forced her to be transferred to a hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she lost her life.

Because of this, it started an investigation that found at least four likely perpetrators of the attack on the young woman.

Authorities also discovered that Madison Brooks had a blood alcohol level of 0.319% at the time of her death, meaning she was highly intoxicated, nearly four times the legal limit.

This way, Police arrested 18-year-old Kaivon Washington on charges of third-degree rape, along with a 17-year-old, whose name is withheld because he is underage.

In addition, the capture of Casen Carver, 18, and Everett Lee, 28, was also achieved. who are also accused as accomplices of rape.

According to information released by the KSLA television network, Washington and Carver graduated from Walker High School, while Carver was a member of the same institution’s baseball team.

It should be noted that Kaivon Washington, one of the defendants in the alleged rape of Brooks, He claimed to have had a consensual sexual encounter with her after a night of heavy drinking.

He also claimed that he and another teenager had sex with Brooks in the backseat of a car, while Carver and Lee were sitting in the front seat.

The defendants claim that the girl then asked for a ride home, but agree that she gave them several different addresses before getting out of the car on Burbank Drive, where she was later struck by another vehicle.

Under Louisiana law, the charge of third degree rape generally involves a victim who is incapable of resisting or comprehending the nature of the act due to stupor or abnormal mental condition produced by an intoxicating agent or any cause and the offender knew or should have known of the victim’s disability.
