A high school student in Mexico built a car with parts from an old washing machine

Rosvel Emir Cruz Herrera, a 16-year-old high school student, has become a trend on social networks after it was revealed that was able to build a car from parts of an old washing machine.

The young man who He is studying at the National College of Technical Professional Education, popularly known as CONALEP.told that was inspired by various Youtube video tutorials to be able to design and build his car, which he uses to get from his house to his school.

“I was on Facebook and photos of carts came out, also on YouTube. So I thought I could make one, so with the materials I had at home I made it. I had a small four-wheel drive and the tools, I was guided by the videos that appeared on Facebook and I was liking them to implement them on mine”, revealed Herrera.

The student indicated that The construction of the car was made from discarded parts that he found in his house and that thanks to his ingenuity he was able to recycle to be able to create a functional car. The young man says that in order to build the car he received help from his father to assemble the vehicle, because among other things he needed a motorcycle engine, as well as other parts of a car such as a brake, accelerator and gear lever.

“It has the front suspension and the steering arms from the small ATV, the rear wishbone is also from the ATV. The engine is from a motorcycle and the rest is pure pipe that we were making. The fuel tank is from a water pressure pump, but the inlet and outlet [para el combustible] It’s from the tank of another motorcycle. It has a brake, accelerator, clutch and gear lever, while the steering wheel is a chain that we gave a round shape with a bucket. The floor is the sheet of a washing machine and the seat was given to me by an uncle, ”he explained.

The student tells that It took about two months to finish building the vehicle and then it took another two weeks to tune up the car.. Once this entire process of verifying its operation was completed, he was encouraged to start going to CONALEP in the car, which has allowed him to save money.

“I think I’m missing a lot [para terminar su vehículo]Of everything I want to do, it is 70 percent ready and I recognize that there are conflicting opinions about my project, but I will continue working on it to make it perfect and safe. I appreciate the good and bad comments, because I can learn from them. I am 16 years old and I still have time to hone and create,” he added.
