The career -and life- of the Mexican soccer player Carlos ‘Gullit’ Peña will have a new opportunity after several stumbling blocks between Mexican soccer and Central American leagues.
The one who was once a promise of Liga MX and considered “the face of a generation” signed a contract with the Al Dhaid club of the exotic competition United Arab Emirates (USA, for its acronym in English).
A few days ago it was published in the Mexican press that Peña, who has just played for Club Vida de Honduras, thanked the reception in his new team:

At 32 years old, Gullit Peña will seek to revive his career a bit and above all stay away from addictions that have made him plummet when more was expected of him and he was even present with the Mexican National Team at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
His time in Liga MX went from less to more. In the basic forces of the Tuzos del Pachuca he stood out among all the youth players and from there began a career in which he won four trophies with Club León and a short stay in Europe with Rangers of Scotland.

This same Monday that the news broke, Gullit Peña dressed in shorts and trained with the rest of the Al-Dhaid Sharjah squad. In Arab soccer he will wear the number 5, his favorite, the same one he always wore in the happy afternoons and successful nights in the MX League.
The Mexican midfielder also successfully passed all the physical and medical tests before being officially presented. His contract is for a year and a half..
