Scolari is the coach with the most titles in South America with 27 championships. He was recently at a sporting event in Brazil and the technical director did not save words to criticize Luis Enrique whom he believes has lost everything.
“That won? It has to perform. He is very good, but he lost everything. How good is that? Mourinho did win. I think it would be easier to hire a South American coach than a European one,” said Felipao, who reached the last Copa Libertadores final with Atlético Paranaense.
According to UOL Esporte, emissaries from the Brazilian Football Confederation probed Luis Enrique, they are even organizing a meeting with him. Several options have been heard for the Brazilian team bench, such as José Mourinho, Zinedine Zidane, Carlo Ancelotti and Luis Enrique. In the entire history of the Brazilian team they have had only one foreign coach.
Ancelotti recently distanced himself and expressed that he is happy at Real Madrid, in which he also commented that it will be the last team he will lead in his career.
For his part, Luis Enrique was widely criticized for his work in Qatar 2022 where he fell in the round of 16 against Morocco. The Spanish coach left office and was singled out for not taking more forwards due to the low number of goals.
