Julio César Chávez Jr. reappears to provoke Canelo Álvarez: “I'm still a threat to him”

In 2023 it is eagerly awaited see Canelo Álvarez again in the ring. Although there is nothing concrete, there are several names on the table. John Ryder, Dmitri Bivol, David Benavidez and Caleb Plant are some of the candidates. But Julio César Chávez Jr. asks not to be forgotten, considering that he is a serious opponent for the man from Guadalajara.

“I’m still a threat to him even though I don’t do any boxing, why? Because I am a person that people like, I am not like him, I am the opposite of him (…) If he fights with me, he’s going to earn more money, he’s going to earn more reputation.…”, Chávez indicated in an interview for the El Boxglero channel.

The “Junior” questioned the quality of the rivals that the man from Guadalajara has faced. The son of the “Great Mexican Champion” insinuated that he is a better opponent than John Ryder, an English fighter who is among the candidates to get into the ring with Saúl Álvarez.

“Canelo is a great boxer, one of the best in boxing, I can’t deny it. But there are others who are good, tough and we can give him better fights than what those English fighters have given him. (…) We are not going to respect Canelo because of his name or because he won or because he has promoters (…) I’m not interested. If I fight, I’ll fight him and that’s it“, he assured.

Despite the fact that Julio César Chávez Jr. does not get into the ring from the December 18, 2021the “Junior” is considered prepared for face the revenge against the man from Guadalajara if he wants to.

“I am a boxer. if you want to fight me… because he is morbid, even if he says no, that revenge is going to generate a lot (…) There are no levels here, I fight with the best at any time and in any circumstances“, he concluded.
