Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia is one of the most anticipated fights by boxing fans due to tension that has been created between the two in recent months. Although there is nothing official, the date of April 15 is being handled as a possible day of the fight, but the contract has not been signed and Oscar de La Hoya decided to set a deadline otherwise another fight will be organized.

“I don’t have a contract, the deadline for me is Monday or I’m leaving,” were the words of the Golden Boy on Twitter along with the hashtag #DavisGarcia implying that if the fight contract is not signed this Monday, January 16, Ryan García will look for another rival for his next fight.

De La Hoya recently criticized Davis’s promoter, Premier Boxing (PBC), after considering that it treats boxers only for their interests. “PBC fighters who are spellbound need to realize they have no legacy, they are just tools and they will never be legends,” he wrote on Twitter.

Gervonta Davis recently defeated the undefeated Héctor García to retain his World Boxing Association lightweight title. The American did it with a technical knockout in the eighth round.

The eighth episode was decisive for the outcome of the match. Tank Davis, who had been dominating since the sixth round, landed several uppercuts and a big right hook to the 31-year-old’s face. There was the impression that the bell saved Garcia from ending up losing the fight by knockout.

Before the decisive ninth round began, Hector García and his team decided that he could not continue as his right eye was in very bad shape. In this way they spoke with the referee who validated the technical withdrawal and the victory of the Tank.

Reports indicate that one of the doubts they have on Ryan Garcia’s side is Davis’ past with a history of arrest with domestic violence. and a current citation for a car accident that occurred in Baltimore during 2020.
