Idaho legislator Jack Nelsen had to apologize for comparing women to cows

Jack Nelsen, Republican representative of Idaho, caused a tremendous uproar on social networks after a few days ago, during the first meeting of the legislative session of the Committee on Agricultural Affairs of the House of Representatives, commenting on women’s health care, he compared women to cows.

“I am a lifelong dairy farmer, retired, still part owner of the dairy, grew up on the farm. I have milked a few cows, but spent most of my time walking behind rows of cows. So if you want some ideas about repro (reproduction) and women’s health, I have some definite opinions,” the politician said with a broad smile.

Later, when a video with his comments was broadcast on social networks, there was not a single person to support him and, on the contrary, the anger of several women eager to see his resignation or removal from the political position he holds was unleashed.

“Similarly, I’ve seen bulls castrated, so anytime Rep. Nelson wants an opinion on the state of his prostate, I’d be happy to give him some insight on his ‘health issue’. indicated a user comment.

“Women and cows…basically the same from a moral and political perspective,” said another of the detractors of the Republican representative from Idaho.

As the thread of the conversation dragged on, the angry responses escalated.

“Don’t you realize that the mammary glands and the uterus are extremely different organs?” another comment quoted.

For its part, the Idaho Democratic Party took advantage of the unfortunate statement of its contender in the political arena and also dedicated a forceful message to him.

“Let’s be clear: politicians like Jack Nelsen do not have to mandate our reproductive health care decisions,” the text said.

This way, the 67-year-old Republican legislator had no choice but to apologize to public opinion.

“The way I worded my statement on women and reproductive rights missed the mark,” Nelsen said. in an interview with the Idaho Statesman newspaper.
