Ellen DeGeneres Posts Stunning Flash Flood Video Near Her Santa Barbara County Residence

The presenter Ellen DeGeneres published on her social networks a stunning video of a flash flood that occurred near his residence in the community of Montecitoin Santa Barbara County.

DeGeneres released the recording on his official Instagram profile, where he has more than 130 million followers.

Due to the dangerous winter storm that hit California, Montecito authorities gave the order Monday for a general evacuation due to the risk of flash flooding.

Evacuation orders were also issued for Summerland and the city of Santa Barbara.

Since the DeGeneres property was on higher ground, the authorities only recommended that he shelter in place and not evacuate.

“We need to be kinder to Mother Nature, because Mother Nature is not happy with us. Let’s do our part, stay safe everyone,” said DeGeneres, who was wearing a hooded jacket.

In the video posted by DeGeneres, the sound of the intense flow of water rushing through the river can be heard.

In addition to DeGeneres, personalities such as Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have their residences in Montecito; Rob Lowe and the interviewer Oprah Winfrey.

Montecito, where there are multi-million dollar properties, is an area that is very vulnerable to landslides. because it sits on the slopes of a mountain range where five years ago a wildfire burned through hundreds of square miles.

The town of Montecito is located in Santa Barbara County, about 84 miles from the city of Los Angeles.

Winter storms have impacted virtually all of California since December 27, causing millions of dollars in damage and the deaths of 17 people.
