Los Angeles County has days without rain after a severe storm; precipitation may return for the weekend

After the storm, calm comes to Los Angeles County and southern California, even for a few days.

The severe winter storm that caused flooding and mudslides throughout southern California moved away from the region, and A more pleasant day is expected for this Wednesday, with cool temperatures and no heavy rain forecasts.

The weather phenomenon dropped large amounts of rain across the region. More than 6 inches were recorded in the Malibu area, while at the Opids Camp site in the Pasadena area, more than 10.6 inches were taken.

Until now, in southern California averages more than 10 inches during this seasonwhich represents nearly double the amount that is normally recorded at this time of year.

It is expected that this Wednesday and the next few days will have clearer skies, but forecasts indicate that by the weekend the rains could be back.

Although the storm has passed, There is a high surge warning for the coasts of southern California, with waves that can reach between 10 and 15 feet, according to the National Weather Service.

Los Angeles and Orange counties will see partly sunny conditionswith a high of 62 degrees and a low of 47 overnight.

Similar conditions are present for the valleys and the Inland Empire, with thermometers reaching a maximum of 62 degrees (which could increase to 70 degrees this Thursday) and at night a minimum of 39 degrees.

Communities in the mountains will enjoy a sunny day, but with cool temperatures of 42 degrees maximum and a marked drop during the night to 18 degrees.

Clear skies will prevail on the beaches, with a forecast of maximum temperatures of 60 degrees and a minimum of 45; while the deserts will have sunny skies, with a maximum temperature of 55 degrees and a minimum of 36.
