The president of the House of CongressKevin McCarthyconfirmed that he will fulfill the promise he made a year ago and that he reconfirmed last November to eliminate three high-profile Democrats: the representatives Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, and Ilhan Omar.
In an interview with the AP agency, McCarthy indicated that he would strip the trio of their assignments as part of his promise of “revenge.” for the democrats who ousted the republican representatives Paul Gosar and Marjorie Taylor Green of their establishments during the last Congress.
“I promised you last year that as a speaker I will no longer be in Foreign Affairs, and I will keep that promise,” McCarthy told a crowd at the 2022 Republican Jewish Coalition leadership meeting last November.
Schiff and Swalwell, both from California, would be removed from the House Intelligence Committee while Minnesota’s Omar would be removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the agency revealed.
“The Democrats have created something new where they pick and choose who could be on the committee. Never in (Congressional) history has the majority told the minority who might be on the committee, but this new standard, which these Democrats have voted for. If Eric Swalwell can’t get a security clearance in the private sector, there’s no reason he should be given one to be at Intel or Homeland Security,” McCarthy said in a very upset tone in January 2022.
