Clitoroplasty was his solution

In December 2022, María, a 22-year-old girl, complained to a group of doctors at the Hospital Complex of the Federal University of Ceará, in Brazil, about the size of her clitoris, which grew even more during sexual intercourse. “When I started having sex, at the age of 18, I noticed that my clitoris swelled out of the ordinary. And that was something that bothered me a lot,” he recounted.

Although her current partner had no problem with her condition, he recommended that she seek help. The young woman insisted that the best solution was to have surgery. In the hospital where she was treated there was no specialized surgeon, but a gynecologist in the city of Sao Paulo came to town to perform the procedure called clitoroplasty.

The young woman assured that after the operation she felt like a complete woman. “For many people this is just a small problem, but for those who live with this it is difficult,” she said.

The gynecologist Marcelo Praxedes Monteiro Filho, in charge of performing the clitoroplasty, pointed out that The abnormal size of the clitoris is not a pathology or disease but is due to an alteration in development. He further explained that during the surgery the enlarged tissues and excess skin were removed, preserving the sensitive parts that are important for sexual pleasure.
