Although many consider it an unlucky day, the next Friday the 13th it could be the lucky day for players of Mega Millionswell it will be played the second largest prize in the history of this lottery.

And as a curious fact, It seems that good luck has touched the players of the Mega Millions lottery in draws on Friday the 13th over the years, with six jackpots won on that day.

There’s another chance for good luck next Friday the 13th because no ticket matched all six numbers drawn Tuesday night (white balls 7, 13, 14, 15 and 18, plus gold Mega Ball 9) and a gigantic prize of $1,350 million dollars is estimated ($707.9 million in cash) for the drawing on Friday, January 13.

It is the second largest jackpot in Mega Millions history.

“The jackpot is rolling again, keeping all Mega Millions fans on their toes for another draw,” said Ohio Lottery Director Pat McDonald, Principal Director of the Mega Millions Consortium. “Now, at $1.35 billion, the Mega Millions jackpot is rising and making history as the second highest Mega Millions jackpot in history. Our members’ lotteries raise funds for many good causes, ranging from education to conservation programs. We are proud to support these efforts.”

Michigan has been particularly lucky with the Mega Millions jackpots on Friday the 13th, winning four of them (June 2008, May 2011, June 2014 and October 2017). That 2017 jackpot was shared with a winner in Rhode Island.

Other Friday the 13th jackpots have been won in New York (March 2009) and Ohio (November 2015). However, none of them came close in size to the estimated $1.35 billion up for grabs later this week.

The only Mega Millions jackpot larger than Friday’s estimated prize is the game record of $1.537 million, won in South Carolina on October 23, 2018.
