Raúl Jiménez has lost the leading role at Wolverhampton in the English Premier League and for several months the Mexican has been dreaming of changing teams. After the latest rumors that brought him closer to FC Barcelona, the legend Hristo Stoichkov suggested that he return to Club América of the Liga MX.
According to the Bulgarian’s perception, Jiménez was left in fear after the skull fracture he suffered in 2020 and left him inactive for a long period of time. The Mexican lost prominence with Bruno Lage and now with Julen Lopetegui, which is why the former Blaugrana player recommends that he return to his club of origin so that he can impose his hierarchy.
“He is a great player, a striker that I personally still like because he makes a big difference, he moves a lot, he opens up a lot of space for his teammates. His first year, with Adama Traoré, he made a terrible duo for everyone, ”he explained.
“After the injury, we don’t see Raúl, I think he’s still playing with a lot of fear, he still hasn’t let go. For me, if Raúl wants to return to being the Raúl Jiménez that we know, he has an option that is to return to America”, he declared for TUDN.
After dragging some physical problems that kept him away from the fields in the last quarter of 2022, Jiménez played the Qatar 2022 World Cup with El Tri, but upon his return to England, he has only been able to participate in a couple of commitments.
The rumor that placed the striker in the orbit of FC Barcelona was disclosed by Ekrem Konur, an expert in transfers from the ESPN network. According to the reporter, the Barcelona club would be interested in a substitute for Robert Lewandowski.
Raúl Jiménez made his debut with the Águilas del América in 2011 and was linked to the Azulcrema team until 2014. He later emigrated to Europe when he was signed by Atlético de Madrid and then had a stint with Benfica in Portugal before moving to Wolverhampton, where he exploded as a player.
