Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do not stop being news, this time the member of British royalty gave an interview to the program ’60 Minutes’, where he confessed that Before I met Meghan Markle I was a bit of a racist.
What Harry said is closely related to everything that has happened around his relationship with the former actress, since the media of his nation at some point were racist towards Meghan for being Afro-descendant.
At some point in the programme, the Duke of Sussex reflected on the attitudes of his past, considered that he harbored racist feelings before meeting and falling in love with the protagonist of ‘Suits’.
“I had no idea the British press was so intolerant. Hell, I was probably bigoted and racist before my relationship with Meghan,” he told host Anderson Cooper.
Lady Diana’s son added that it was very difficult for other women in the royal family to assert their voice, but adding race to the topic was something else entirely. He added that he had no idea that the British media would react to Meghan the way they did.
Prince Harry indicated that his relationship with Meghan changed him, so he said: “Put it this way. I didn’t see what I see now.” The royal representative said that in the past he raised his voice against various attitudes of racism against other members of the monarchy.
In his interview with Oprah Winfrey, he said that an older member of his family, without mentioning a name, was concerned about the color of his young son Archie’s skin.
This interview is part of the promotion of his memoirs, ‘Spare’, in which includes a long list of grievances against royaltyincluding violence at the hands of his brother.
