Guillermo Ochoa played his first game with Salernitana in Serie A and his first challenge was against none other than current champion AC Milan.

The Mexican goalkeeper lived a difficult afternoon and conceded two goals, but it could not have been thrashed if it were due to his actions. Thanks to his performance, Memo Ochoa was chosen as the best goalkeeper of the date in Serie A.

According to statistical data, Ochoa was the goalkeeper with the most saves on the date. The Mexican made 9 saves and was above Marco Carnesecchi in interventions from Cremonese who offered seven saves, and Michele Di Gregorio, from Monza, with five saves.

Despite Ochoa’s good performance, Salernitana added their third consecutive defeat and is ranked 14th in the table and will continue in their fight for permanence in Serie A.

For the Mexican goalkeeper, the game was, in part, something positive, since the local media recognized his great work under the three sticks and stated that, if it weren’t for him, the scoreboard would have scored a win.

“Very soon it was noticed that Ochoa was the best of all (his team). He made a lot of normal saves and a special goalie double save :dI deflected over Giroud and De Ketelaere a minute before Bonazzoli’s goal. In the end, to please, he did another two as a phenomenon footballer, the last one again at CDK”, published Gazzeta dello Sport.

“Excellent debut”, published the newspaper Corriere dello Sport, describing the performance of the five-time World Cup player, who in the duel against Milan saved three clear plays from the world runner-up Oliver Giroud.

January 8 will be the next date against Torino in which they must add so as not to drop places in the table that the teams of Sampdoria, Cremonese and Hellas Verona currently have.
