Diego Lainez painted to be one of the great figures of the Mexican National Team of the future. The Mexican soccer player left the Águilas del América in 2019 with a market value of $14.6 million dollars. Over the years, Lainez has lost prominence in the Old Continent and is “disappeared” in Portugal.

The former soccer player of the Liga MX received a hard blow from Gerardo Martino to the not summon him for the World Cup in Qatar 2022. The World Cup could have given the Aztec a confidence boost that he could have used on his return to Portugal with Sporting Braga.

But the days go by and the Mexican is not a necessary figure within the club. Coach Artur Jorge seems not to have the Aztec to the point of leaving him relegated to the stands. It is worth mentioning that “Factor” left Real Betis with the intention of gain more minutes in Portuguese football. But everything seems to indicate that the club would not exercise the purchase option at the end of the season and the Aztec must return to the Spanish club.

Diego Lainez and a career in free fall

The young Mexican soccer player has only played 10 matches in major competitions with your club: the Portuguese League, UEFA Europa League and the Taça de Portugal. However, the number of matches does not translate effectively into playing minutes. The Aztec has only been on the court for 203 minutes.

Diego Lainez arrived in Europe with an initial value of $14.6 million dollars. With the passing of the years and the loss of opportunities in the Old Continent, the current value of the Mexican is around $2.6 million dollars. In the event that the Aztec fails to reverse this situation, his future will be Liga MX and a frustrated European dream.

This is how it went for Mexicans in Europe this week.
