Meeting between Atlas and Toluca is rescheduled due to the poor conditions of the Jalisco stadium

The MX League announced that the game between the Zorros del Atlas against the Diablos Rojos del Toluca has been postponed due to the poor conditions of the Jalisco stadium. The meeting was scheduled for the second day of the Clausura Tournament that would take place on January 7 of this year.

“Within the framework of the permanent revisions carried out by Liga MX to the fields of soccer stadiums and despite the maintenance efforts of the Clubs, the Liga MX Review Commission, after a complete technical evaluation, ruled that the field of the Jalisco Stadium is not in optimal conditions to carry out the soccer matches corresponding to Matchday 1 of the Clausura 2023 Tournament“, explained Liga MX in a statement.

With the suspension of the game between Atlas vs Toluca, there are already two games corresponding to the opening of the Clausura Tournament that have been postponed, added to that of León FC vs Mazatlán, which was suspended for totally different reasons and that have to do with the violent acts that took over Sinaloa since last January 5.

It should be noted that The Expansion League will also undergo modifications, because the match between Leones Negros vs. Pumas Tabasco will be suspended that should be played in the same way at the Jalisco stadium.

There is still no scheduled date for the rescheduling of the aforementioned matches and according to the league statement, These dates will be announced well in advance.; However, they recalled the importance of keeping the stadiums in the proper conditions for the correct practice of football and thus guarantee the spectacle and the physical integrity of the players and referees.
