DoorDash is expanding its business at the beginning of 2023 and now it does so, not only to deliver food at home, but also to pick up parcel and take it to the post office or to the nearest delivery company.

The new DoorDash service seeks to take advantage of the season at the beginning of the year in which millions of consumers give back to retailers some of the gifts they received during the Christmas season.

“We are excited to introduce Package Pickup as an efficient and hassle-free offering for those looking to make returns during the busy post-holiday season and throughout the year,” said Gagan Gupta, DoorDash product manager.

And DoorDash does it for them. for a cost of $5 dollars for each package that you want to send by mail or parcel to be returned.

But the service is not only used to return gifts you don’t want, but to send any product that is contemplated, either by the mail service or by a private company.

According to DoorDash, users just have to deliver the package they want to send to their couriers, and they will take it to the nearest office of the United States Postal Service (USPS), or to a FedEx or UPS store.

To use the package service, DoorDash users simply go to the app or website and select “Packages”.

Once inside this tab, you have to choose the type of service you want to use, either by the USPS, FedEx or UPS.

Once these steps are complete, a DoorDash worker will come to your doorstep and for a $5 fee will bring your package and deliver it to the office or store for shipment.

DoorDash clarified that the cost of the fee does not include labels, QR codes nor the cost of sending the package, but it is only a collection and delivery service at the parcel offices.

The regular service has a cost of $5 dollars; however, DashPass members can use it for a special rate of $3 dollars per package that you want to send.

In addition, DoorDash indicated that all users of the application are entitled to free shipping that can be used during the month of January.

The company assured that the parcel service also seeks to encourage users at some point to order something to eat, which would strengthen its other line of business.
