Ignacio Nacho Ambriz took advantage of the start of the Liga MX season to talk about the crisis in the Mexican team and left some advice that El Tri needs to get back on track for what will be the next Gold Cup and the World Cup stage towards 2026.

The Toluca coach did not point to anyone specifically, but he did explain that the crisis is at all levels and that decisions must be made as soon as possible.

“I must tell you, we have a football crisis at the National Team level, call it managers, coaches, footballers, if we don’t understand that, it will be complicated,” Ambriz said at the press conference.

Ambriz pointed out that a difficult period is coming because Mexico has already qualified for the World Cup, so the great teams that will be fighting for a place in the World Cup they will not want to play against the Tri. He also stressed that there is no patience for the coaches and that he expects the coach to be a Mexican technical director.

“I think the Mexican works well, it could be a Mexican (the next coach of the team), with respect to foreigners, I think the Mexican has his things, unfortunately there is no patience. The Federation must be calm, not rush to see who puts. You have to remember that there will be no competition, there will be cool matches, teams that are going to fight for the World Cup will not want to play with you, ”he added.

The Mexican coach was asked if he would like to take the reins of the Mexican team and although he admitted that he would like to, he confessed that his concentration is with Toluca and that he wants to be with the red club.

“They ever asked me if I was interested in the National Team, I said yes; I had made the merits to be, but today I am focused on Toluca, It is not that I discard myself, today Toluca concerns me, it is quite true that when you are a champion it is easier for you to be in the National Team, whether you are a foreigner or a Mexican,” he said.

“This tournament I am going to fight, not for the National Team, for the commitment to Toluca, to Don Valentín, the rest, as a Mexican who would not like to lead the National Team, but everything is calm, if I have to be there tomorrow it will be, but Right now I’m focused on Toluca,” he said.
