The crisis that is being experienced within the Republican party has once again put on the ropes Kevin McCarthy who for the seventh time lost the House by not achieving the minimum votes to rise as the new president of the House of Representatives.
McCarthy got just 201 votes, Jeffies led the Republican by 11 points, Donalds bagged 20 votes and Republican Matt Gaetz voted for Trump.
This is how McCarthy sweetened the ears of the “rebellious” Republicans
In an attempt to keep “his candidacy alive” for president, Kevin McCarthy reportedly offered further concessions on Wednesday night.
People familiar with the matter revealed to Axios that McCarthy’s proposal has been tempting to most, though one member called the plan an “incredible deal that they would be fools to turn down.”
According to the aforementioned media, the offer consists of:
-Motion of one member to vacate, instead of five.
-More members of the House Freedom Caucus on the House Rules Committee.
-Vows to hold votes on controversial term limits and border security bills.
However, the apparent proposal does not seem to have seduced the “rebellious” Republicans because in the seventh attempt McCarthy has not succeeded again.
