One week after Lionel Messi was crowned World Cup champion in Qatar 2022 with the Argentina team, The Albiceleste star is the protagonist of a trend on the TikTok platform for his false death.

In the midst of the Christmas celebrations, several Internet users have taken advantage of a trend within the social network that consists of informing one of their parents of the supposed death of their idol. All with the aim of recording their reactions.

One of the most viral videos was that of a man who was preparing a sandwich with his son, when he announced the false death of Messi. The father’s reaction was to drop to the side of the table and express his surprise.

The clip was shared by a user identified as Brian Gabriel and reached 1.6 million views with more than 200,000 likes and close to 700 comments where fans expressed their opinions about this viral joke.

“Where do we take it for Óscar?; “Not even in the Rosa de Guadalupe do we see that level of performance”; “The acting talent pursues you, but you are faster,” were some of the responses from users on the social network, stating that the overacting in the reaction was notable in the video.

Little by little the trend is increasing and another user wanted to play the same joke on her mother about Messi’s false death.

This trend was born on TikTok a few days ago, but with Hispanic music celebrities like Chayanne or Luis Miguel.
