Hyundai redesigns the Kona SUV and offers several engine options

Through an official statement, Hyundai has revealed the new generation of the Kona SUV through a “futuristic” redesign derived from the electric variant, which will be available in up to four different versions.

Now, the Kona will hit the market through a fully electrified variant, a hybrid one, an internal combustion one and the last but not least, sporty N Line loaded with a universal architecture that adapts to various styles.

“Enhanced with KONA’s unique character, the new vehicle confidently expresses its bold and dynamic presence, which has evolved in every way to encompass an even broader range of diversity, becoming a true lifestyle advocate.” said SangYup Lee, executive vice president and director of the Hyundai Design Center.

Outstanding features

Hyundai ensures that the new Kona has become a larger SUV but just as powerful and efficient, designed for day-to-day urban driving and offering great comfort inside, growing to 4,355 millimeters in length (150 mm longer than the previous model). In addition, it happens to be 25 mm wider and 60 mm more distant between axles.

Mechanically, the manufacturer ensures that the powertrain has undergone modifications. However, at the moment it does not specify what it is. On the other hand, Hyundai describes the Kona as a car with a futuristic appearance but with dynamic styling accentuated in the wheel arch lining, adding headlights and taillights to continue transmitting the Kona vibe.

Other details that stand out in the new Kona are the front grill, rear bumper, 19-inch alloy wheels, “wraparound” side mirrors and a black roof (the latter optional). Technologically, it has double 12.3-inch wide screens and a floating module with additional space for greater comfort.

In this way, Hyundai reaffirms its commitment to sustainable mobility, understanding the need to considerably reduce carbon emissions by 2050, with the aim of avoiding an increase in environmental temperature by 1.5 degrees and entering a phase of dangerous consequences. for the planet and the life distributed throughout it.
