Two buses full of undocumented immigrants they were left in front of the residence of the vice president Kamala Harris in Washington, DC, on Christmas Eve during the polar cold wave that is occurring in the United States, according to CNN.

The police source who informed said that there was no one from any organization or aid group on the ground to receive them in front of the Naval Observatory, where the vice president’s house is located.

“It looked like they had to call family members or someone else to pick them up, but they were just standing there shivering with blankets for the last five to 10 minutes,” the police source said.

An administration official separately confirmed the arrival of the migrants and said that police have estimated that approximately 50 more migrants will be arriving and is expected to be late on Christmas Eve, likely after 10 p.m. ET.

Migrants who arrived on the initial two buses were taken to local shelters, according to the official.

It is not known at this time who is responsible for sending the migrants to the Naval Observatory, although Texas Gov. Greg Abbott had sent buses with migrants to a location near Harris’ home earlier.

This is a practice carried out by the Republican governors of Arizona, Texas and Florida to protest the immigration policies of the Biden administration.
