One of the images that went around the world was that of Lionel Messi raising the trophy in Qatar 2022 wearing a kind of black and gold tunic known as bisht. Ahmed Al Barwani is a lawyer from Oman who would be willing to pay one million euros to get that accessory.
Through the social network Twitter, this person addressed Lionel Messi to congratulate him on winning the World Cup and make him the million-dollar offer. “My friend Messi, I congratulate you on winning. I am offering you a million dollars to give me that bisht, ”he told the seven-time Ballon d’Or.
The lawyer had an interview with The National, where he expressed his pride in the exposure that the Middle East received with the ecumenical event. “This tournament has been a source of pride and has highlighted important facts about the fact that we have forgotten Palestine and that the Arabs are united.”
Minutes before receiving the World Cup, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani put Messi’s tunic on his shoulders. Now, this person wants to get hold of it in order to give it the value that he considers it deserves.
“It will be displayed to commemorate this proud moment, and to help us revive it, and also to remind us that we can do anything”, said. “I was at the stadium to witness live the moment in which the emir of Qatar gave Messi the bisht,” he added.
The bisht is a traditional men’s cape popular in the Arab world that has been worn for thousands of years. It is a common clothing that is usually used at weddings, religious festivals and important dates.
It is made of camel hair and goat wool, where this material is spun, in order to make the cloth, which is ready to be used later. As a result of this mixture, a very pleasant fine fabric is obtained to wear with high temperatures, those that are always present throughout the Qatari territory.
