The German tennis player Boris Becker, three-time Wimbledon champion, has been released after almost 8 months in jail and will be deported by plane from the United Kingdom , as reported this Thursday by the local news agency PA.

Becker, aged 50, was released after having served only eight months in prison of a sentence of 2 and a half years imposed last April for having hidden assets and loans worth 2.5 million pounds (2.9 million euros) to avoid paying their debts.

According to the aforementioned British agency, Becker, resident in this country since 2012, had been transferred from Wandsworth prison, in south-west London, to Huntercombe, near the town of Henley-on-Thames, in the English county of Oxfordshire, a lower-security prison for foreign criminals awaiting deportation .
