The path for Donald Trump to become president will be nothing easy, in this journey the ex-president has faced several accusations that relate him to a group of anti-Semites or tax fraud. Added to these scandals is one more, the alleged pyramid scheme that he promoted alongside Celebrity Apprentice that links him to a federal lawsuit.

According to the plaintiffs, ACN Opportunity, LLC, d/b/a American Communications Network, was a pyramid scheme that violated state and federal laws regarding “extortion and conspiracy to extort”.

Law & Crime reported that

the lawsuit began six years ago citing advertisements that featured the Trump family promoting the scheme on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice. Judge Lorna Schofield set the trial date for 29 January 2024, just as the presidential campaigns begin. The plaintiff’s attorney had requested a trial to be held before the election season. But it was ignored.

The lawsuit alleges that Donald Trump personally endorsed the company under the title of a “ renowned businessman and billionaire.

According to the aforementioned outlet, the legal representative of the scammed parties, Roberta Kaplan, “do not want to interfere with the next campaign and are aware that, if the schedule in this case extends until 2024, Defendants are likely, as they have in the past, to use the campaign as a basis for seeking further delay. Setting a trial date now will provide certainty and prevent any further delays. Also, it makes sense to align the summary judgment briefing with the class certification briefing, since discovery will be complete and there is no reason to wait.”

Trump people are concerned that Kaplan’s case will interfere with the New York state case of Attorney General Letitia James, which is set to begin in October of 2023. “Plaintiffs’ initial request for an October trial date of 1200 is no more than an ill-fated attempt to interfere with another case in which my partner and I are attorneys for Donald Trump, Jr. and Eric Trump, who are also defendants in this case . said Clifford Robert.
