The director Darren Aronofsky is a lover of musical theatre, and for this reason wants to bring to the stage an adaptation of his film by 2021 “Black swan”, although he is aware of how complicated the project is.
In a recent interview with EW Aronofsky -who is currently promoting his film “The whale”– commented that he has talked to many people about a musical work by “Black swan” and who doesn’t stop working on it: “It’s something very complicated, because the music of musicals is no longer popular music. So what do you do? I think the play “Hamilton”
was brilliant because Lin-Manuel Miranda fused hip-hop with music of such works. And then he had this breakthrough that was really brilliant. But imagining that angle, what the music would be like, where it comes from, is the great challenge. I have spent a lot of time thinking about it. And hopefully, one day, I could figure something out.”
Starring Natalie Portman, “Black swan” it garnered good reviews upon its release and was nominated for five Academy Awards, winning Best Actress. The tape is about a ballerina obsessed with reaching perfection in a ballet production “Swan lake” by Tchaikovsky.
