HOUSTON – For the family of Diamond Álvarez, a young woman who was allegedly shot 54 times by her ex-boyfriend in a neighborhood to the southwest of the city , it is difficult to know that a few blocks from where Diamond was shot, the alleged person responsible for her death is serving house arrest while he awaits his day sectional.

It is unfair to Diamond’s relatives that the suspect Frank DeLeón has the possibility of awaiting trial at home and not in jail, So now having found out that De León received permission to leave his house makes them very upset.

This Tuesday in the Harris County Courthouse it was announced that the suspect in killing Diamond was granted a medical and dental appointment.

DeLeón appeared in court to request the permits that will allow him to leave home prison in the one he is in and go to these two medical appointments.

Anna Machado, mother of the minor of years dead from 54 shot while walking her dog through a neighborhood in the southwest of the city, she rejected the decision of Judge Hazel Jones to give her request to DeLeon’s defense. “I don’t understand it,” she said.

He did the same the victim’s aunt, Blanca Mejía, who described the act as an injustice, even more so when her niece was brutally shot, apparently, by DeLeón.

The defendant faces charges of aggravated homicide in the Court of Harris County for the events that occurred in the middle of this year.
