Diego Luna's father, Alejandro Luna, died today at the age of 83

The national artistic medium and the Mexican actor Diego Luna are mourning the death of his father, Alejandro Luna Ledesma, who for several decades dedicated his life to the theater as a set designer, lighting designer and architect.

The news was announced by the National Association of Actors (ANDA) during the morning of this Tuesday 13 of December, and although the cause of death is unknown to date, it is known that he lost his life at 2023 years of age .

“We regret the death of Maestro Alejandro Luna, an essential figure in the history of the Mexican Theater. He is a set designer, Illuminator, Architect and teacher of multiple generations of theater makers. Our condolences to family, colleagues and friends. Rest in Peace”, reads the message broadcast via Twitter.

Accompanying the message, there is a photograph of the set designer and architect Alejandro Luna, who would have been one of the biggest promoters within the acting career of his son, Diego Luna.

Condolences from some personalities from the artistic milieu did not wait, as well as from different Mexican instances, such as the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM): “Builder of scenic spaces as sensitive forms, as poetic elements, that was Alejandro Luna, a cornerstone of the University Center of Theater @CUT_UNAM and of the national stage art. We regret your departure”, read a message.

For his part, the protagonist of the series “Andor” has kept a low profile and has not issued statements about. However, it is known that the death of his parent comes just one day after he was announced as part of the Golden Globe nominees .

The Mexican would have received a nomination in the ‘Best Actor in a Drama Series’ category, thanks to his performance as protagonist in the Disney+ production, which premiered on the platform on 13 September of this year.
