Alleged road rage incident leaves Hispanic man dead in Los Angeles County city

An alleged road rage incident resulted in the death of a Hispanic man in the city of Maywood, in Los Angeles County.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD), approximately 8:41 pm Friday officers responded to the intersection of E. 80th Street and Atlantic Boulevard in response to a call about an accident involving a pedestrian.

When officers arrived at the scene, officers found the victim, who was described only as a Hispanic male .

The victim had injuries to the torso and was rushed to a hospital, where he died moments after.

“The in Investigators determined that a road rage incident occurred before the victim was struck by the suspect vehicle,” the LASD said in a statement.

Authorities said that a suspect allegedly related to the incident was detained, although no to know his identity.

Up to now it has not been clear what was which caused the alleged road rage incident and which ended in the driver hitting the pedestrian with his vehicle.
