New York Attorney General Letitia James has asked a Florida federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit in against him by Donald Trump, who seeks emergency protection for the revocable trust.

Donald Trump accused Attorney James of attempting to invade his privacy by asking for documents about the trust as part of his civil lawsuit for $100 million filed in September against the former president and his family.

“There is no emergency that requires the court to grant the extraordinary relief of a temporary injunction. Instead, there is only one disgruntled litigant, Donald J. Trump, who impermissibly seeks to evade the jurisdiction of a New York State court that he is presiding over an enforcement action alleging widespread fraud and illegality by himself and others in the conduct of his New York-based company and has issued a series of rulings it considers unfavorable,” the prosecutor’s filing read.

Former President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit in November in Florida’s Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Court seeking an injunction to prevent the attorney general, Letitia James appoint a watchdog to review a revocable trust that the former president uses to manage his assets, while he awaits the lawsuit for tax fraud.

The prosecutor defended her search for information about the trust because, according to its presentation, it possesses t All assets that are valued in Trump’s financial disclosures. James has alleged that those disclosures were fraudulent because they inflated Trump’s net worth and deceived banks into giving the former president more favorable loan conditions than he deserved.

Fearing that the alleged fraud happened, James last month convinced a judge to impose an independent monitor to oversee aspects of the Trump Organization’s business, including the preparation of Trump’s financial statements.

For his part, Trump argued that the details of his trust should remain hidden from James because she would “publish them widely”, violating her right to privacy.
