The judge investigating the “Barçagate” case has released the former president of FC Barcelona Josep Maria Bartomeu and his right hand, Jaume Masferrer , who have availed themselves of their right not to testify, as they did yesterday at the police station.
The head of the investigating court number from Barcelona, Alejandra Gil, decreed freedom with charges for both directors , investigated for a crime of unfair administration and another of corruption in business.

Bartomeu and Masferrer, for whom the Prosecutor’s Office has not requested precautionary measures, have been transferred this morning to the Ciutat de la Justícia , where they have been brought to justice, after yesterday the Mossos d’Esquadra arrested them together with the club’s general director, Óscar Grau , and the head of legal services, Román Gómez-Ponti , and will register the Barça offices at the Camp Nou.
The four then availed themselves of their right not to testify before the police officers, but while Grau and Gómez-Ponti were released, Bartomeu and Masferrer spent the night in the cells of the Les Corts police station.

The case, which was opened in May 2020 , tries to clarify whether different companies hired by FC Barcelona have allegedly carried out on social networks a smear campaign of individuals and entities not related to the board of directors of Bartomeu .
