WhatsApp added a new function to its application that makes it easier for users to search for old messages based on the date on which they were sent or received. For now, the new feature is only available for devices with the iOS operating system.
Until now only there were two mechanisms to search for messages. The first of them was from a personal or group chat using the corresponding function, or from the main menu.
However, none of these options allowed the user to filter in greater detail between the messages, which caused the search process to one in particular could be tedious and complex.
It should be clarified that the function is found present in the trial version of WhatsApp ..0.77 for iOS, this means that it has not yet been incorporated into the stable version of the app. However, this is expected to happen in the short term, so that both iOS and Android users who use the stable version of the messaging app can test it.
How to use the search function by date?
According to images published by the website WaBetaInfo, dedicated to reporting the launch of new WhatsApp features, users who install the update will be able to see that by clicking on the magnifying glass button while they are in a chat, a new panel will appear at the bottom of the screen.

The fact that WhatsApp is working on this type of function shows that they are interested in improving the experience of the users, who had been asking for time that the message search system be improved.
Something to note is that although it is a novelty in WhatsApp, this function was already available in Telegram since a while ago. This is not a surprise since it is extremely common for WhatsApp to incorporate functions that had already been previously developed by the competition.
