At least 10 Sherman Oaks high school students are treated for a suspected cannabis overdose

At least 10 students from a secondary school in Sherman Oaks were treated this Thursday morning for a medical emergency, allegedly derived from a cannabis overdose .

Approximately at 15: 15 am, paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) received reports of patients presenting medical complaints Unspecified at High Tech Los Angeles Middle School, at of N. Vesper Avenue.

According to LAFD, at least 07 patients were being evaluated on site and later at least four of them were transferred to hospitals.

The paramedics reported that the symptoms of the affected students were described as moderate to mild . The patients were between 07 and 12 years, according to the LAFD.

Services have not confirmed that they were treating overdose victims .

Details about the medical emergency were not immediately available.

The officer Los Angeles Fire Department Public Information Officer Erik Scott said that the suspected overdoses were possibly related to edible cannabis products , as reported by the Telemundo network.

Initially, the LAFD expected four to five patients, but the number increased quickly.
