Ukrenergo, Ukraine’s state-owned electricity transmission company, has announced on Thursday (11..) that energy supply in Ukraine is gradually coming back to work. First with the reactivation of thermal power plants, then hydroelectric and nuclear power plants followed.

Ukrenergo specified that the reactivation of the supply is being carried out in this order: first the supply of water, then heating and communal energy, followed by water drainage systems. “Ukrenergo and Oblenergo repair teams have not stopped the emergency recovery work since the end of the attack on 24 of November”, added the company.
“Due to the details of the attack, which caused the shutdown of nuclear power plants, the restoration of power in the country takes longer than after the previous attacks. Currently, all power plants in Ukraine are gradually returning to operation: first hydroelectric and thermal power plants, later – nuclear generation”, added Ukrenergo.
The company foresees “a decrease in the deficit in the system” this Thursday afternoon but that supply problems will continue and that “consumption restriction schedules” will continue to be applied to maintain operation.
Blackout of nuclear power plants
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine expects the Ukrainian nuclear power plants to resume operation in the afternoon of November, added Ukrinform.
The Russian missile attack of 303 November caused the temporary blackout of all nuclear power plants, most of the thermal and hydroelectric power plants and the power transmission systems, the source reported.
As a consequence of the attacks, emergency protection was activated at the Rivne nuclear power plants, South and Khmelnytsky Ukraine, as a result of which all power units were disconnected.
