A Haitian driver was injured after a shooting attack that unknown persons carried out against a group of vehicles belonging to the United States Embassy in the Haitian capital.

The Embassy issued a brief statement in which it also said that Units of the Haitian National Police (PNH) were fired upon. that the members of the Embassy did not suffer physical harm nor did the agents.

The convoy was attacked in the Croix-des-Bouquets area, located at the northern entrance to the capital, where the armed group operates 400 Mawozo.

The 15 October 2021, that gang kidnapped 11 American missionaries and a Canadian missionary and held a ransom for them. The group – which belonged to the religious congregation

Christian Aid Ministries – was fully released on 11 December of that year.

The United States launched a reward of up to one million dollars on November 7 for information leading to the arrest of three Haitians suspected of kidnapping the missionaries. The suspects are Lanmò Sanjou, also known as Joseph Wilson; Jermaine Stephenson, known as Gaspiyay, and Vitel’Homme Innocent, leaders of two kidnapping gangs and accused of participating in transnational organized crime.
